Alarming Statistics Approximately 20 million people in the United States have type I or type II diabetes with another 5.1 million undiagnosed. Every 29 seconds, someone in the United States has a heart attack and every minute someone dies of a heart attack. Arthritis affects more than 15% of the U.S. population, approximately 43 million people. Asthma affects an estimated 14.9 million persons and causes over 1.5 million emergency department visits, 500,000 hospitalizations, and over 5,500 deaths annually. About 20 million adults in the U.S. suffer from depression each year, and up to 25% of all women and 12% of all men in the U.S. will experience major depression. Over one million people get cancer each year. Approximately 1/2 of American men and 1/3 of American women will have some type of cancer during their lifetime. The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that currently 800,000 to 900,000 people in the United States are currently living with AIDS.

Training Advanced Training for Healthcare Professionals on chronic disease management. Focus is on medication adjustments and behavioral change strategies. These courses can be delivered live, complete with guest speakers and full-interactive capability or online.

Wellness on Demand!™ Medical Nutrition Therapy

Patients meet with a licensed dietician to first assess and then design a nutritional program specifically for them. Sessions target patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and obesity.

Wellness on Demand!™ Patient Education Video Series

Healing Our Village is dedicated to delivering quality patient health education, especially to the underserved segments of the population, generally minorities. We have created a series of education videos that target specific chronic illnesses including diabetes, asthma, HIV/Aids, and congestive heart failure. The videos are available in multiple languages and can be made readily available for Patient use in the Primary Care Physicians’ office, healthcare clinic or on the Internet that are available in multiple languages to suit our Clients’ populations. Using today’s technologies, we make accessing these educational materials a snap!

Wellness on Demand!™ Corporate Wellness

Reducing healthcare insurance costs and maintaining employee retention are challenges companies of all size are facing. Studies show that employees who participate in corporate wellness programs have more favorable claims experience. Our Corporate Wellness program offers a wide variety of products and services to create or complement an existing program. The Wellness on Demand! Health Education Video Series is included as an option, allowing for multicultural inclusion.
