Deryck Wade
Vice President - Clinical Operations

Deryck Wade is a Clinical Development professional who has over 26 years of experience in the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry.  Mr. Wade has held senior management positions in several different companies including a large tier 1 pharmaceutical company, a large tier 1 biotechnology company and a select number of mid-sized biotechnology companies.   He has extensive knowledge of the clinical trials process having directed the clinical programs within these Clinical Research organizations across many therapeutic areas.  Mr. Wade has held leadership positions on multiple Clinical Development project teams that submitted Regulatory Applications four of which resulted in FDA approvals for drugs or technologies.   He has developed and implemented the Clinical Operations infrastructures within the Clinical Development departments in those organizations not only in the US offices but also in European affiliates.  In this capacity Mr. Wade directed the teams responsible for the development of Clinical Operations processes including resource plans, clinical budgets and project timelines; clinical document management; development, management and distribution of Standard Operating Procedures; and the training of clinical personnel.

Mr. Wade also forecasted and managed the Clinical Department’s operational budget.  Additionally, he was responsible for clinical vendor management which included establishment of the business requirements and performance metrics for contracts, formulation of Requests for Proposal, and negotiation with vendors for clinical services.  Mr. Wade had responsibility for developing and implementing Clinical and Regulatory Information Systems including Clinical Trial Management Systems, Electronic Document Management Systems, and Electronic Data Capture.

Mr. Wade has presented at various conferences on clinical trial budget management and cost control.  He was a faculty member for the National Medical Association’s Project IMPACT where he taught Good Clinical Practices workshops to minority investigators for over three years.  Mr. Wade is a member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), Drug Information Association (DIA), and the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) and the Editorial Advisory Board for “The Monitor”.  He is sits on the Advisory Boards of Accelere, Inc and The Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP).

Deryck holds a BS in biology from City College of New York and is a graduate of UCLA Anderson School of Management – Management Development for Entrepreneurs (MDE) program.
